Back Forty and Back Forty West are excited to welcome Rowan Jacobsen, James Beard winning author, for a full-on cider and apple dinner at Prince St. on Monday October 27th and a walk-around cider tasting on Ave. B on Saturday Oct 25th, both celebrating rare apples of the northeast and the exciting ciders produced  in the region. Rowan has written the just published Apples of Uncommon Character, a visually lush and fact filled book as well as numerous terrific, informative (yet never pedantic) food books including A Geography of Oysters and American Terroir.

This dinner will showcase many of the best ciders, still and sparkling, and a complementary menu from Chef Peter Phillips highlighting cider friendly foods and celebrating some of the rarities Rowan has collected for us.
