James Beard Award winning author Rowan Jacobsen will join Chef Sarah Langan in our Education Kitchen for an heirloom apple dinner. Rowan’s newest book, Apples of Uncommon Character: 123 Heirlooms, Modern Classics, & Little-Known Wonders, is a celebration of America’s apple renaissance. The evening will start with a lively cocktail reception featuring local cheeses and an heirloom apple tasting. Then Chef Sarah and Rowan will prepare a three course dinner and discuss the apples used in each dish. Each course will be paired with hard cider from Eden Ice Cider and owner, Eleanor Leger will discuss each pairing. You will be well fed and entertained!
At the end of the evening Rowan will do a book signing; books will be available for purchase.
