Meet your maker: Cider maker that is — with Aaron Burr Cider, Proper Cider and “Apples of Uncommon Character”
Kick off Cider Week at The Pines Sunday, October 26th, with a five-course dinner featuring Aaron Burr Cider pairings and free bonus tasting with Proper Cider! As part of our “Meet The Producers” dinner series, cider makers Andy Brennan, Jeremy Hammond and Joy Doumis will be on hand to talk about their craft, alongside James Beard Award-winning writer Rowan Jacobsen, author of “Apples of Uncommon Character.”
They’ll go hard on everything from apples to cider, talk shop on varietals and terroir and production methods — plenty of good talk, and plenty of cider to wash it all down.
$80 set menu with pairings. Chef John Poiarkoff’s cider-inspired dishes include
Brussels sprouts with wild boar pancetta, fennel marmalade and compressed apples
Pasta with cider-braised rabbit and wild maitake mushrooms
Red Wattle pork jowl with squash and ginger
7:30 p.m. dinner seating — Reservations required
6 – 7:30 p.m. cocktail hour — Open to all. Come early for a special cocktail or cider or two — and a book!
